Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Sullivan's Island rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Sullivan's Island area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Sullivan's Island vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- In the Sullivan's Island area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Sullivan's Island area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental in the Sullivan's Island area:
- First, have your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Classic Style Sullivan's Island house - Very Charming! 2 blocks to beach\/ 1 Month Minimum Only! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Sullivan's Island rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Sullivan's Island attraction you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
