Tips and Tricks for getting the best Sullivan's Island vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Sullivans Island. Book your Sullivan's Island rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Sullivan's Island vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Sullivan's Island area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Classic Style Sullivan's Island house - Very Charming! 2 blocks to beach/ 1 Month Minimum Only! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
