Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Sullivan's Island rental & When to go:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Sullivan's Island area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Sullivan's Island restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sullivans Island Luxury 30 Day rental, Pool, Hot Tub, & Rooftop deck - 1502 Poe Ave has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Sullivan's Island rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More considerations:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
