Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Sullivan's Island rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Sullivan's Island area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Sullivan's Island vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Sullivan's Island vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Sullivan's Island area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Sullivan's Island visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your search:

  • To start, have your group commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New! Sullivans Island Luxury 30 Day rental, Pool, Hot Tub, & Rooftop deck - 1502 Poe has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.

  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
