Tricks and tips for getting the best Sullivans Island vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Sullivan's Island rental home:

  • Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Sullivan's Island area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Sullivan's Island visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the best vacation home in Sullivans Island:

  • First, have your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful Oceanfront Home on Sullivan's Island w\/5Bd\/4Ba has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Sullivan's Island attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
