Getting the best Sullivan's Island vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Sullivan's Island area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Sullivan's Island area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Pool + Outdoor Living has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home.
