Sullivans Island vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Sullivans Island rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in Sullivans Island. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • In the Sullivan's Island area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Sullivan's Island area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Sullivan's Island visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Sullivan's Island area:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Classic Style Sullivan's Island house - Very Charming! 1 block to beach & walk to fabulous dining! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
