• This is the certification course to allow you to dive anywhere in the world.

• Upon successful completion of the training you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 60 feet.

  what_is_not_included: - If you have not purchased your own mask, snorkel, fins and booties in conjunction with the class. These may purchased elsewhere, but must actually be scuba quality gear, not snorkel gear.
  itinerary: There are 3 available class schedules for completing your Open Water Certification Training

• Option 1 - Relaxed 2 weekend class
  Day 1 (Sunday)
  10 am - 3 pm - Meet at Joe's Scuba Shop
  Meet and greet, go over eLearning, size for wetsuits and any purchased gear, review gear assembly and complete student gear assembly, swim test (200m swim and 10 min tread water), go through all scuba skills in the pool
  Day 2 (Saturday the following weekend)
  9 am - 1 pm - Meet at the quarry for Dives 1-3
  Day 3 (Sunday the following weekend)
  9 am - 12 pm - Meet at the quarry for Dives 4 and fun dive

• Option 2 - Standard weekend class
  Day 1 (Friday)
  10 am - 3 pm - Meet at Joe's Scuba Shop
  Meet and greet, go over eLearning, size for wetsuits and any purchased gear, review gear assembly and complete student gear assembly, swim test (200m swim and 10 min tread water), go through all scuba skills in the pool
  Day 2 (Saturday)
  9 am - 1 pm - Meet at the quarry for Dives 1-3
  Day 3 (Sunday)
  9 am - 12 pm - Meet at the quarry for Dives 4 and fun dive

• Option 3 - Compressed weekend class
  Day 1 (Saturday)
  Meet at Joe's Scuba Shop
  9 am - 1 pm - Meet and greet, go over eLearning, size for wetsuits and any purchased gear, review gear assembly, complete student gear assemby, swim test (200m swim and 10 min tread water), go through all scuba skills in the pool
  3 pm - 5 pm - Meet at the quarry for Dive 1
  Day 2 (Sunday)
  9 am - 1 pm - Meet at the quarry for Dives 2-4

• Pool Locations
  The pools we generally use are:

• Quarry Location
  5812 New Rd, Ravenel, SC 29470
  Turn left at the large black gate just before the train tracks

• Trips to the Florida Springs are also available during with winter months, cost of the trip to FL is an additional $450 over the open water class fee (lodging not included).

• Classes scheduled from November-March are not necessarily completed in the initial weekend due to how cold the water is here in those months. It is possible to add on the drysuit class in conjunction with your open water class for an additional $200, but realize the cold water will make everything much more challenging.
  check_in_details: - If you have purchased your personal items (mask snorkel fins) as part of the class, then arrive to the Joe's Scuba shop 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled start time.
  what_to_bring: - Please bring plenty of drinking water, sunscreen, snacks, bathing suit and towel, bug spray, and if you purchased your personal items somewhere else also bring those.
  special_requirements: - If you are a minor taking the class, please have your parent at least come to start of the class to ensure required paperwork is signed and the parent is clear on the schedule and pickup times.
  restrictions: - The minimum age to complete this course is 10 years old (10-11 year old's require a private class).

• Between 10 and 14 years old you would be certified as a Junior Open Water Diver which has some restrictions.
• Those restrictions are:
  Must dive with a parent or dive professional (10-11 yrs old).
  Must dive with another certified adult (12-14 yrs old).
  extras: - You can complete the Computer Nitrox class in conjunction with the open water class, so you would then be certified both open water scuba diver and computer nitrox, thus being able to use Nitrox on future dives.
• Off shore dives following certification completion are an additional cost of $210 for the charter with Whole Other World Scuba, but rental gear is included at no charge if booked with your open water class. ($50 savings).
